Types of laminated Plywood

High-Pressure Laminates
This type is made by pasting the décor paper to the sheets of ply at extremely high pressure. They are durable and can withstand heavy loads.
Low-Pressure Laminates
The use of low-pressure laminates is extensive in laminating particle boards and MDF. The decorative film is soaked in melamine resin and then used on the board.
Laminates based on the thickness
The regular sheets are usually 0.8mm to 1.50mm thick and are glued manually to the plywoods. The compact sheets have a thickness ranging from3 mm to 30 mm and are self-supporting. They can also be uses as decorative top or bottom.
While there are many uses of laminates, they come categorized into two major segments.
- Industrial Laminates
The laminates are explicitly designed for industrial use and can withstand wear and tear. They are water, fire, and chemical resistant and are durable.
- Decorative laminates
These laminates are rigid sheets and come in various designs, colors, and textures to choose from. They have a thickness of 1 mm and help in providing finished looks to interior work. The laminates come in matt or glossy finishes, solid colors, or can be textured, and therefore are selected accordingly.
